DRY NEEDLING

WHAT IS DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is performed by a Physiotherapist using an acupuncture needle to stimulate muscle pain trigger points. Physiotherapists use dry needling with the goal of relieving pain, improving mobility, and stimulating healing.

HOW DRY NEEDLING
WORKS

Dry needling is applied after a thorough assessment of trigger points and may be performed along with other therapies. A trigger point is a taut band skeletal muscle. It can be tender to the touch and may refer pain to other areas of the body. The application of the needle causes a small twitch in the muscle to release or inactivate the trigger point thereby improving the muscle contractility, flexibility and circulation.

WHO NEEDS
DRY NEEDLING?

Dry Needling can be used for almost any injury where there is muscle and joint pain or restricted mobility.
