PHYSIOTHERAPY

WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy promotes independence and improves your quality of life by rehabilitating your injury and/or the effects of your disease or disability. Physiotherapists can help you plan maintenance and support programs to prevent re-occurrence, re-injury or functional decline.

HOW PHYSIOTHERAPY WORKS

When you see a Physiotherapist, they will complete an extensive assessment that may include your health history, evaluation of pain and movement patterns, strength, joint range of motion, reflexes, and sensation.  Based on this assessment, your Physiotherapist establishes a diagnosis and works in partnership with you to develop individualized goals and treatment programs.

WHO NEEDS PHYSIOTHERAPY?

See a Physiotherapist if you have an injury or chronic pain that affects your everyday function. You may also benefit from physiotherapy after a hip replacement surgery, heart attack or stroke.
